Baby beauty products.

As a new mom I was introduced to a whole new world of products. From baby wipes to breast pads, these items were designed by women who thought, "there's got to be a better way." God bless them for their thoughtfulness and ingenuity. There are two products I have integrated into my regular beauty routine and wished I had known about earlier.

Baby body wash has become my favorite all-purpose cleanser. I have very sensitive skin and have found it is a great non-harsh product to use on my face. It gently cleanses my skin, clears the dirt and make-up and doesn't leave me feeling dry. I also have naturally curly hair and have been urged by my hairstylist to decrease if not eliminate my use of shampoo. I tried, but sista' be oily. I needed some mild shampoo that will clear the oil but, again, not leave me too dry. So, I have been using this product as my shampoo as well. This is an all around a great cleanser that I will continue to use long after Mona is bathing herself.

Those early days of breastfeeding were rough. Mona was always a great feeder but the constant demand on my body was enough to make a grown woman cry, and oh did I cry. My poor little nips were chapped to say the least. One blogger mom compared her breastfeeding nipples to dry toast. When my poor toasty nipples were screaming out in pain I remembered the homely women who taught my breast feeding class and her advice to rub a little extra breast milk on the affected areas. People had been saying from the beginning of my pregnancy that breast milk was magic and offered all these healing benefits, but my poor nips needed more than boob juice. The Lansioh Nipple Cream soothed my tender areas, but I only needed to used it for the first two months. I had this whole tube of nipple cream that was going to waste. As winter came so did my dry, toast-like lips. I started to use it on my lips and have been able to keep them super moisturized. I also apply a little extra and give Mona some kisses on her chapped lips and cheeks so she can reap the benefits as well. So from Nips to Lips, no more dry, toasty body parts on me.

The sum of its parts.

I've always been really bad at details. At the end of the day, it is hard for me to remember all that happened. I typically just compile all of the events and some where in my brain add it all up (plus it up if you are my husband) and derive a feeling: good day, sad day, frustrating day, etc. This may be part of the reason why I am not a good blogger. I just have a hard time caring or paying attention to details, so therein it is hard for me to write in details. Ironically, that is what I love about some of my favorite blogs. Unfortunately, I just don't think it would be worth my time to keep a blog if it's only content is a feeling...I like that, I feel happy, I want that. There are ideas and posts floating in my mind. Ideas and events that I would like to keep some kind of record of or things I would like to share, but at the end of the day they just get mushed all together and nothing is ever written.
Here are some of the blog posts that I have been meaning to write, but haven't gotten around to it:
1. My Martha Stewart Project. I do have photos I need to share, they are just all on the camera.
2. My new found love of baby care products that work great for adults.
3. I am going to paint my bedroom black...um, I mean, dark grey.
4. Places I would like to travel.
I will post, and with photos. They may or may not be in this order.
